With more than 40 life events that cause grief and loss it’s a wonder that we’re not all walking around with Kleenex boxes every day of our lives. Well, if not for societal myths about grief, including “Don’t feel bad”, “Get over it as soon as possible”,and “Deal with your feelings alone”, we might be. And might be better off for it! Grief is a normal reaction to loss. Grief is the conflicting feelings when a pattern of behavior ends. Although devastating as they are, death of a loved one, and divorce are just two of life events that cause grief.

Other events which can change our lives drastically are abandonment, adoption, abuse, moving, marriage, having a baby, not having a baby, loss of a significant relationship.
